I am trying to locate the most likely burial place for Sidney Benjamin Willcox. It is stated on his death cert that he died in the Northern Hospital, Liverpool on the 23 April 1927. Prior to death he was living at 61 Granville Road, Seaforth.
I have googled the Northern Hospital and it gives me a listing of 'David Lewis Nothern Hospital' in Leeds Street, Liverpool 3. Would this be the right one?
Do any of you kind people have any ideas?
Thanks for any help
Kind Regards

Do you know the religion? If RC then it's most likely to be Ford. As you have the exact date of death why not give them a ring 0151 522 1017 as they should be able to check their register for you.
If not there, then we can think again, possibly Thornton.

Thanks Mary. I don't think he was Catholic as he was married in St Nicks. Do you have a number for Thornton that I could try?

Hi Lyn
Here's a link for cemeteries, you will find contact details for Thornton Garden of Rest, it comes under Sefton Council.
Good luck

I wouldn't discount the religion just because of where they married, they often chose St Nick's or St Peter's because of the status of the church. A phone call doesn't cost too much and serves to discount three cemeteries at once.

Thanks Mary - will give that number a ring tomorrow just to make sure.
Thanks Tina for the link, will certainly investigate further.
Will let you both know how I get on. Your help is much appreciated.

Just to let you both know that I have located the grave of Sidney Benjamin Willcox at Bootle Cemetery, Linacre Lane. A big bonus for me is that he is buried alongside his wife and mother, although unfortunately the grave doesn't have a headstone. The guy I spoke to at the cemetery said that a Frederick Wallace paid for the plot in 1919, which is when Sidney's mother died, but have no idea who Frederick Wallace is - just sets you off on another quest eh?!
Amelia's husband, Benjamin Willcox, isn't in the grave - which was my original quest - to find his birth and death cert. Being a sea captain, I can only think he was at sea when he died.
Thanks again for heading me in the right direction though, much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Lyn
