Hi and welcome to the forum.

You don't have an easy job ahead of you, at the very least you need to know the dates of their death.

With Irish ancestors I suspect their religion may have been RC in which case I would suggest checking the records for Ford Cemetery.

Are there none of the children still living who would be able to tell you where the burials took place or narrow down the dates for you?

Hi Mary,
Yes i know i dont have an easy job iv been at this now for over 12 months. :) unfortunatley i have one of those rather disfunctional families were they fall out with each other and havnt spoken for years.

Joseph Murphy (my father) dob 1915 Married twice.
His first wife Ellen Holden died @ 28yrs old.
They had 1 daughter Valerie (still living but its harder to find her ) last i heard she lived in kirkby. had 2 children and one died in a rail accident few years back. Married Harry Pilnick. Have tried but cant find them.

Anastacia Donoghue (That was her maiden name) she also married twice.
John o Hare died young abt 30 , they had 3 children.

Joseph Murphy & Anastacia O Hare Married 1951 St Alphonsus Church Liverpool 5. Lived in 21 Cubbin street which is were i lived.
Joseph & Anastacia had 7 children, which made this now 11 children in the house. Valerie Murphy did not get along with the 3 kids of anastacias and left to live in kirkby with josephs sister May, (Mary) some years later Joseph & Anastacia split up and Joseph went to kirkby with May & Val.

Joseph Murphy died 1990 and Valerie buried him with her Mother Ellen Holden. I have written to Allerton Lodge were they are buried and was told that the grave belonged to my father Joseph Murphy. Him and ellen holden lived in 21 Cubbin st when he bought it. after ellen, her sister Bridget Bennet also went in there and then Colin Pilnick who is Vals son went in there to so im presuming Valerie took over the grave. But i cant find my grandparents, i have limited memories because when we were kids you just didnt ask questions and if you did my mother was likely to throw at you whatever was in her hand at the time :D normally the frying pan LOL
So we knew very little about my dads side.

Thank you for your very quick response its very much appreciated. it is starting to drive me a bit mad but its also fascinating when you do find something out.

Just a little warning not to post details about living people on here please, if you are still searching for some of these relatives we tried to put together a few hints here http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... php?t=8154

Your mention of St Alphonsus church makes me feel that the family were RC and I would strongly suggest that you check the indexes for Ford Cemetery. There is a black index box in the microfiche section of the Liverpool Record Office which lists all burials in Ford, Yewtree and Ainsdale.

It might be a bit of a slog but if you could narrow down one of the deaths to a few years and list all entries of the occurrence with the grave reference, then cross reference these to the grave, this will show a list of those who are in the grave.

I have just checked a photocopy of an index page that I have and it lists the address of each person, so that will be a help to you.

If it were me, this would be the first step to take, since if that fails you will be searching lots of different cemetery lists eg Anfield etc. and I feel that would be an almost impossible task as the death dates are unknown.

Hi Nicola good luck with your search :D
I tried to get close to the deaths for James & Brigid/Bridget, as usual, with folk from Ireland, ages were out.
Can't say for deffo I have found them in indexes.
A death certificate would have led the way for you.
Here's a link to Ford, Deeds on File.
It takes a while to load.
They could be buried in Ford, some people just didn't have the money to buy the Deed.

If anyone finds info on your living people, they will send you a private message.
