Just a thought as he is a serving soldier at marriage and must have joined up as a career as too young for the First World War have you tried searching Army deaths? Also he could have still been serving during Secomd World War. Last thought is depending on who is classed as next of kin to the gentleman what about for his Army papers. However this is only granted to next of kin from their list.
