Wonder if any member can help me to discover if the above died in an accident whilst working in the dockyard at Cammell Lairds. I'm not sure what year this was but I know he lived at 152 Athol St. Liverpool in 1901 but isn't on the 1911 census for Liverpool.

At the dates you are looking for a death, ages are given on the indexes which might help pin down the entry, however if you have the correct spelling of his name then there is no entry in Liverpool for his death until 1928, where an Arthur A Connell was aged 30.
You would need either the death certificate or perhaps an entry from a newspaper, but without the death date that would be almost impossible to find.
As you say you have the details from the 1901 census please provide them, including the references and we'll try to help from there.

Hi Jan
I think it says Nelson nr Burnley.
1911 I put him in as born Nelson & he comes up as you said 27 in W Dby.
There's also a Mary listed aged 52.
Looks like he was still alive in 1911.
Not sure if it's him, marriage Lancs BMD 1912 St Ambrose
Beatrice Jackson
Had a look in Ches BMD in case he died in Birkenhead, no luck.
There's a death in Lpl Nth 1957 aged 73yrs bn 1884c
Dunno

I think if you have been told that he died in an accident you need to question that person rather carefully to pin them down as to when the event may have happened.

Good suggestion Mary.\
It looks like the man we have found in Athol St etc etc died in his old age.
We will have to wait for reply.

In the 1911 Census Arthur is a Wire Rope Maker.
I found this in the 1914 Directory for Liverpool
Arthur Connell Wire Rope Maker 44 Nesfield St.

Hi Jan good going
So thats his wife the Milk Dealer in 1938 46 St Domingo Rd Everton..so if shes listed as head Arthur must have died before 1938.
With Mary,George & Dorothy as their children
1911 47 Clarence Grove Everton....
her father George is aged 80 born in Ballygoan Queens Co Ireland retired Warehouse man.
married to Sarah for 30 years 14 kids 9 living..
theres enough kids to trace forwards they must have descendants who know about uncle Arthur..

Great information Jan & Col
The witness Gladwinfield, I've never come across this surname before.
He's 13 in 1901 a bread boy.
Here's the ref just in case it's needed later
