All queries on streets tonight.

Have received today a burial record for my x2 g.fathers brother.

Register of burials at the 'Necropolis' Burial Ground or Low Hill General Cemetery. RG4/3121/Folio 0 Chapel Registry

Date of Internment: 24th April 1836 No of Grave 5256(appears to be a public grave, there are a number of names listed in the same grave).

John Fairhurst aged 12 months
Father: Nathan Fairhurst
Mother: Mary (nee Eaton)
address: POPLAR LANE
disorder: Measles
officiating Minister: John Bruce.

I assume Poplar Lane was around Low Hill; Anyone have ideas?

Hi Gray,

I looked on the street index in the 1841 census (on CD) and Poplar Lane was in the Dale Street ward.

H0107 562 4 19-22

It was in the Cumberland Street area, not sure of the enumerators walk, I couldn't make out the writing much.

Hope that helps a bit

Hi Jan,

Many thanks, The expertise on this site!!!

I know where I am now (makes a change), not where I expected though.

Not far from Moorfields, where the family lived earlier generations.

Hi Gray
I'm sorry I don't have time to go through the streets for Poplar Lane.
This census starts at Whitechapel & goes through to Cumberland. I've looked at a few page numbers with no luck.
Anyway, it will give you an overall view of the area. St George Dist.
HO107/2180/141/1
Mary Cumberland 10 yrs bn Ireland.
