Hi,
I'm visiting Liverpool in July and would like to visit St Mary of the Angels church. I have read a bit about it being restored and I'm wondering if anyone knows if that has happened and if it's open to the public.
Thanks
Leonie

I believe the one you mean is the one in Fox Street?
I would give a phone call first if I were you as it's unclear what it's status is at present. I recently visited St Francis Xaviers and the guide there told me that the parishes had merged but that St Mary's church was still being used for certain things - ie there was a partitioned off part which the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra was using for rehearsing, in exchange for which they were giving music lessons to the local school children.
The partition could be removed to create a bigger space, if it was needed, for say Church services.

I appreciate your help Mary. I have found an email address for the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and emailed them to ask if the church is accessible to the public at all and if not is there a chance we could go and have a look inside when we are in Liverpool. It never hurts to ask. Fingers crossed.
