Hi

I would be grateful if someone could look up - either the inquest itself or local newspaper reports - on a great uncle of mine, Thomas Heaps, who died in a tragic dock accident in late October 1899, aged 52.

According to his death certificate it states that he was killed at Langton Dock, Bootle on the Steamship 'Samantha' (not sure if I have read the ships name right) Killed by being caught by fall and winchhead whilst discgarhing cargo. Accident Certificate recieced from S Brighouse Coroner for Lancashire. Inquest held first November 1899.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Regards
Frank

Hi From past experience the inquest report for that era would probably be a one liner and not give any more info than is on the death cert Irene
