Help please, looking for Lewis Parry and Shadrac Parry dont have any more info on either except that Lewis was a witness to Richard Evans and Sarah Jenkins in 1853 as found by Irene in record office, on checking my Gt Grandmothers marriage cert Catherine Evans (she was Richards sister) and married in 1873 to Richard Jones, a witness to their marriage was Shadrac Parry, just wondering do the Parry's show on any census as family, seems like to much of a coincidence in the surname. Also on both certs are a Mary ****? and a Mary Owen

Hello Liverbird,
With names such as Lewis Parry and Shadrac Parry they have to be Cymraeg or from Bootle! Where did Richard Evans and Sarah Jenkins marry in 1853, and what were their respective ages then?
Dickiesam.

Hi All
We have a Shadrach Parry bn Wales 1828 living in Bradford married to Ann in 1871, died Yorks 1878.
# Shadrach Parry bn Llanwrst 1848 died 1875 Anglesey (possible witness?)
Shadrach bn Llanwrst 1860 (too young for a marriage witness)
#Shadrach 12 yrs servant to Owens Family 1861, Anglesey.
I don't think this is of much help.

Hi Tina and the compliments of the season to you!
Hello again Liverbird,
Noted your reference that the Catherine Evans who married in 1873 was Richard's sister. If the family I found in 1861 is correct, RG09 - Piece 2670 - Folio 88 - Page 42, then Catherine is his daughter. Richard is 34, Sarah is 40 and Catherine is 15. This family is the only Richard and Sarah Evans in Liverpool. They are living at 10 Virginia Street.

Hi to all and thanks for your input to my query.
Dickiesam, Richard and Catherine are definatley brother and sister they are shown on the 1851 census together he is a widower of 28 yrs ( more likely to be 25 yrs of age) and she is a 6 yr old they are with their parents William and Eleanor Evans in Anglesey. The 1861 census put me off the track for years with the description of her being Richard's daughter, but her marriage cert shows them as having the same father William Evans, she married in June 1873 to my Gt Grandfather Richard Jones.
Tina, your info of Shadrac Parry is interesting, the middle one is a possibility I suppose, still would love to find any evidence of a Lewis Parry living in Liverpool around the 1850's period when Richard Evans and Sarah Jenkins married. curiousity killed the cat I know but I feel there is a connection with the Parry family stronger than friends.
Thanks once more and Happy Christmas to you both L.B

Hi Simone, just found your posting, what a star you are finding the Parry family living in the same street as Sarah was at her marriage. Seeing that Lewis's wife Mary was from Aberystwith as Sarah was I think this is the possible connection and could be the Mary on the marriage record as witness, seems as though Mary was running a boarding house for all from Aberystwith when you look at the sailors lodging.you have certainly given me lots to think about thank you so much for your input, I will have to settle down now with this new info.
Happy Christmas to you L.B

Hi Simone, still snowing and chaos in the area, but I think I have come up with a possible conclusion to the Evans and Parry family's.
Going through census I have for my family of Evans staring me in the face in the 1851 census for Llanfinhangel Yscefiog, Anglesey where Richard at 28 yrs , widower and a collier is shown living with his family including my Gt Grandmother Catherine who is 6 yrs old. Right next door to them is a Parry family, father Owen, mother Mary but 2 young children Thomas age 12 yrs and Frances age 6 yrs.
You have found in the same 1851 census for Llawd Park, Llaniden 3 people named Parry including Lewis age 30 yrs the others being Richard and Ann both age 35yrs. Is this a possibility that these Parry's are older children of the Parry family who lived next to the Evans the age range of both families would be similar, and what I am thinking now is that the relationship was just a strong friendship from childhood, or they could be related through their parents. What I need to find now is possible birth details or the 1841 census for the Parry family to see if Lewis and co appear on it.
The census details I have was from when I was a sub payer of anc, will have to see what Father Christmas brings this year.
As Lewis Parry was a stonemason and Richard Evans was a tile layer did one give the other a lift up when they arrived in Liverpool obviously to work on the many houses being built at the time, if all this is so how lucky were they to keep in touch for so long. Cheers L.B
