Help needed with Liverpool Address and that Barratt family!!

Hi,

I am still on the hunt for my 'other' Barratt family. I have all of the birth certificates now for the 6 children Edward Barratt had with his first wife. I've discovered that only the first 3 were actually his and the other 3 had a cross through the fathers name. The fact that she was still married to him (just didn't know where he was!!!) gave all of her children the same surname.

Edward's parents lived at 5 Rupert Terrace, Garden Lane, Everton Brow and this is where the couple lived on their marriage certificate.

When child number 1 arrived they were living at 7 Rupert Terrace, Garden Lane, Everton Brow.

When child number 2 arrived they were living at 5 in 3 court, Garden Lane, Everton.

By child number 3 they had moved on to Upper Beau Street.

Is the address where they lived when first married the same address as where they lived when they had child number 2? If not would anyone know where 5 in 3 Court, Garden Lane would have been?

Thanks
Leonie

Hi Tina,

The marriage was in 1920 while they were living at 5 Rupert Terrace.

Child Number 1 arrived in 1921.

Child number 2 was born 1924 and child number 3 was born 1926.

Thanks for your help.

Leonie

Hi
Garden Lane is still in Liverpool, obviously the Rupert courts that were situated on Garden Lane are no longer there. The Courts were named after Prince Rupert, Prince Rupert Tower is near to Garden Lane. Its a very small Tower on a Park on Shaw Street/ Netherfield Road. The tower used to be used to house people who were drunk overnight- possibly only one at a time as it is so small. If you google Garden Lane Liverpool and go to maps you will see the area. It is the Garden Lane Liverpool 5 not Liverpool 9.
Upper Beau Street is just around the corner from Garden Lane

In a 1930s map Garden Lane is north/south approx, running between Upper Beau St and Everton Brow, with Netherfield Rd North/Shaw St next to the east.
