Can anyone tell me where i can find crew list for Irish merchant seamen 1909 to 1911 my husbands grandfather John Mcgee was a merchant seaman from Dublin sailing from Ireland( i presume) family think he drowned falling from his ship any tips i would be grateful

Irish merchant seaman 1909/1911
Hi Collette sorry this could not be my John Mcgee his 1st born son was Mathew born 1891 Johns wife Winnifred was 47 on the 1911 census
she is a widow also said she was married for 21 years so i presume they married 1890 Winifred was living at Brady`s Cottages Dublin I have found
Mathew and his brother Tobias seaman records but John is a mystery

Hi Collette yes this is Mathew and Tobias they have the wrong name as their mother was Winifred Butler Tobias was drowned at sea his ship the SS Ashcrest was attacked by a german submarine in 1940 which was very sad both sons followed their father to go to sea
