Hi,
Just found out that the Irish Government appear to have taken a lead in putting Church Records online. So far only those for Counties Kerry and Dublin are up and can be found here:
http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/index.html

As the accompanying blurb on the site says... You can view over 1.3 million church records free of charge

I have also posted this on the Website forum.

Dickiesam.

Thank You!

I hope they don't take to long putting up All the Counties (particularly 'Tipperary').

Then I will be able to (Hopefully) knock another few Bricks out of the 'Irish Research Wall'!

I hope You don't mind, I copied Your post & pasted it on rootschat.

Thanks Dickiesam, it seems particularly useful in that it will also bring up street names in the search.

Thanks Dickiesam. I found a baptism record for a William John Holland for 1852 at SS Michael & John RC Church in Dublin. If you remember we don't know the county where the Hollands came from. It could well be my 2 x G GF, same name, right sort of date, what would clinch it would be if I also found his marriage to Jane Brogan in Dublin in the 1870s. Good to see more Irish records becoming available. I read they will put up Cork records next so I will have another county to check.

Hi all you happy posters!
I am feeling slightly overwhelmed at the response to my telling this forum about the site. I must find more!!

Perhaps MaryA would do me the favour of putting the URL on the other Merseyside forums?
Cheers,
Dickiesam

I think you've already done what is needed, once the link is on the websites board it should be found by anybody doing a search.

Yes we are happy posters  anything that gives us a lot of free new information as this does makes us
