Hi Mary and all,

I was over the moon to receive this message.. I have been researching 'family history' for a number of years now, had almost given up on a 'Fairhurst' connection (fathers' family) have never had a query from anywhere.

Hope this is acceptable?? if not will delete.

Isn't it Just s**s law though

My PC died a month ago (although did back up until recently) I have lost my whole tree all my photos.. everything.
Son is back from Afghanistan in Jan, he says he will see what he can do.

Have been on daughters Mac. this morning she decided to install windows XP.. as she used mine re work, the whole thing went hay wire.. has taken hours to sort..
apparently, you can split your Mac hard drive now, tee heex

I am now trying to remember everything in my tree to send..

Keeps me on my toes!!

Best wishes all

Hi Jan,

You are a star for getting this info for us.

William was her g.father, my g.father was his uncle.

I only found William by chance recently through the pilot site 'Family Search'

They had his death cert, listing his parents as:

Edward Fairhurst(EdwinJames)my g.fathers' brother
Agnes Gilchrest(Gilchrist)

This is the part of the tree that was not backed up. I could not remember all the childrens names on the 1911.
Has taught me a huge lesson.. write things down

Yes, that is their marriage.

Once again, Many thanks.

Best wishes,
Grayx

Hi Mary and all,

What can I say?

almost in tears here as I know the generosity of my fellow scousers...especially on LSW..

This beautiful young woman (and she really is) that contacted me knew nothing of her L.pool family; neither did her mother, daughter of William Henry Fairhurst.

We have e mailed constantly.. over the last few days. Her family are going to her mother's for 'Thanksgiving" on Thursday.. I have done my best from memory to give her mom something from her dad's L.pool.

We have so much in common: Although 30 years apart.

We are both nurses.. both have 4 children.. 2 boys & 2 girls.

Her hubby is a state policeman in Texas.. my son was a military policeman, is now in Afghanistan as a civilian, in a similar role.

You have really done me proud, although I knew you would!!

This is another piece of the jigsaw for her family..

Many, many thanks.. TRULY.

Hello, to introduce myself Jason Fairhurst.
I stumbled across the below 2009 forum entry ‘Fairhurst Family in Liverpool’ after looking for a street in Liverpool I couldn’t believe my eyes.
My late Grandfather was Francis Fairhurst the youngest son of Edwin Fairhurst and Agnes Gilchrist.
Francis ‘Frankie’ was born 16th January 1914 and died in 1998; not shown on the 1911 census he also had another Sister not shown called Edith (I have a picture dated 3rd Oct 1944 of Edith’s son George).
Contact regarding William Fairhurst (Brother) my Grandad was always trying to track down William’s (Texas) location and I have hand written notes trying to track him down; on a sad note he was unaware of Williams death in 1975 I remember him always talking about him fondly.
My Father Malcom Fairhurst is very keen to meet or track down any of his Fathers relatives; he lives around the area and regularly meets his Mother’s Ivy Fairhurst (Roberts) living relatives in Liverpool.
Fingers crossed this get’s read... Jason

Hi Jason,

Good to hear from you, I hope you are still watching.
I am sorry it has taken a little while for me to reply but my membership had lapsed, kindly Mary Ann has sorted it for me (Thanks Mary Ann)

Your g.father Francis Fairhurst was my 1st cousin, his father Edwin James was my g.father's older brother. My g.father was Oscar born 1883 -1926 (He died before I was born).

You mention in your post a Edith Fairhurst, she married a George Henry Hollis.. their son you mentioned I have spoken to (in fact he lives quite near me in Yorkshire)

If your interested you could let me have your e mail by p.m we can exchange notes :D

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Sue (aka Gray)
