Hello you knowledgeable people!

A marriage took place in Christchurch, Edge Hill, in 1885.

Looking on genuki there are a few Christchurch, can anybody tell me which was the one in Edge Hill please and what religion was it?

Christ Church, Hunter Street, built 1797.
Christ Church, Kensington, consecrated July 21, 1870
Christ Church, Everton, Great Homer Street, Consecrated 1848
Christ Church, Toxteth Park, Linnet lane, Sefton Park, Consecrated April 27, 1871

Christ Church Kensington closed and merged with St Cyprian Edge Hill in c1975, so it is likely to be the former. (Consecrated 1870, RO ref for registers 283KEN.) It is the one with the tall tower next to the library in Kensington.

I can confirm it is the Kensington one, the ref in LRO is 283KEN. I tried looking for amarriage for Carole W this week and took out the wrong Christ Church, I took out the Linnet Lane one which is actually Toxteth. Didn't have time to look again but asked on the desk and they confirmed Kensington. Irene then got the marriage when she went.

It can be very confusing when one site LancsBMD give it as Edge Hill and Liverpool Record Office have it under different names.

Christ Church, Kensington was the correct title when it was up and running, but after 1975 the joint parish was established at St Cyprian's, which was in the district of Edge Hill, at the corner of Edge Lane and Durning Road, though now itself closed.
I hope this helps.

Thank you both, it doesn't take much to confuse me and that certainly did. I knew our great forum members would be able to set me right.
