I think it was near The Grafton and around about the corner of Boaler Street.

Here we are found it on Tony's map of 1930, I looked in the 1938 Directory and it was next to the Olympia Cinema and the Grafton is next door.

'Churches of Liverpool' by David Lewis says the church was on the triangle between West Derby Rd and Boaler St, consecrated in 1867, demolished in 1974. There is a photo of the exterior - very sooty and Victorian looking.

Now that's interesting, I wonder if my dad was dunked there, the family lived in Boaler Street around 1911 and a while after. Thanks for pinpointing it Daggers.

The bit of Triangle where the church was is still there, opposit Caird Street, there is nothing on the land, I remember having to turn my car round in the triangle bit after taking a wrong turn and had to go along Caird Street, have a look on google maps haha.

Mary,

The Grafton has shut down, it is called something else now, but not sure what.

Hi Crew :D ,

Thanks again for information has helped enormously.
I did wonder what the H stood for,as in all the census I pulled up it only used the initial, and in 1911,only Edward is used-I found it by using Mary Harriot-only she was down as Harriet ! hoping it was a mistake,as I could not find another, but Edward was down as District Manager for Meat Importers.
This seemed to tie in with what was on my grandmother marriage cert in 1909,and the address was 93 Elm Vale, Fairfield.

So, now to track Edward Humphrey down-luckily he was born in Liverpool 1861.
Many thanks again, as I said another spot for me to go and see! when next I get over.

Adios

Hi Elsa-Mary,

I did have your marriage for Mary Harriott Amos and Edward H Roberts, to try and get when I went today but time caught up with me. The marriage is Ref 283/EMM 2/3 Jun quarter 1885 and is in the search room at Liverpool Record Office. I didn't have time to go in there as there is usually a wait to get the registers out. However if nobody had been earlier I may be going on Saturday or sometime next week and I will try and get it then for you.

Thank you 42aitch :D

Would be delighted if you have the time.
I have been vey fortunate thanks to Flintshire forum and managed after getting 1911 census,to find Mary Harriot's birth and parents very quickly.

Very unusual to get so much info in short space of time,as you know usually a hard slog and many brickwalls.

Thank you again.
