Can anyone help me with marriage look up.

I have the names etc but not the church is this needed to make look up or will I have to apply to gro. The marriage is between Christopher Bowles and Ann Baylis it took place in December 1871 and District was Prescot - vol 8b page 1079. I need this info to try and trace Christophers parents. I cannot trace their marriage on lancashirebmd or cheshirebmd or on familysearch.

Thanks Midgei

As advised, without a church this would be an almost impossible task.

It could well be outside the area of the registers held by the Liverpool Record Office - http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/REG/dist ... escot.html
This page shows the coverage of the registration district. These sub-districts being covered by Prescot "Farnworth; Hale; Huyton; Kirkby; Much Woolton; Prescot; Prescot & Huyton; Rainford; St. Helens; Whiston; Widnes"

Have you narrowed down the area by discovering where either of them were living in the 1871 census?

Hi MaryA

Just checked my records and all the children except the youngest were born in Birkenhead. Do you have any thoughts - will try the Cheshire BMD again later.

thanks Midgei

I'm afraid Prescot would not cover the Birkenhead area so they must have moved there after marriage.
