Hi and welcome to the forum.
Lesley is going to the Liverpool Record Office tomorrow - or it may be today by the time you read this!
You can add a request to her post and if the area is held there she will do her best.
Please check
http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/ and ensure you have the church the marriage took place and it will give the year, additionally if you can check the GRO index and narrow down the quarter it will give a three month time span for her to search, rather than a full year.

Hi
You can find the quarter in which the marriage took place by using
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com
In this case - it was the September qtr 1899 which means they married somewhere between 1st July 1899 and 30th Sept 1899

Hi Midgei
Marriage Registers for St Leonards Bootle are at Crosby Library which covers South Sefton, don't think the LRO have them .
Added, Sorry Midgei just checked the LRO Site they do have some records 1890 - 1921
LRO Ref 283 LEO
Hope SKP can help you .

It's bugging me that I can't find the family in 1891 under Bowles or Wilmot
