Hi
Can't see an Emma Ann St off Hunter St in my Edwardian Directory c 1907.
Is it taken from a marriage cert ??

Not specifically Emma Ann Street, but I believe many of the Courts were similar so these sites might help you get an idea of what they looked like and what life was like.

Hi,
This URL is for a site full of old photos of Liverpool including many of the Courts.

Couldn't find Emma Ann Street, but an 1891 census street search gave 4 * Ann Street hits... Lydia Ann, Mary Ann, Phoebe Ann and St Ann. The latter had several courts in it.

If you know which area Hunter Street is in, which I guess you will do as 1891 sounds like a census, you could get a copy of an old map from Alan Godfrey maps:

They're not very expensive. I had a similar problem and found my street that way.

Hi
Emma Ann Street came under the Parish of St Mathias. It was off Love Lane down in the Scotland Road Area of the City. My Donaldsons lived there for 30 years. I think it was only a little street with not many houses.

Hi,
Just found Emma Ann Street in the 1881 census. There are six locations listed.. #s 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8. Each number seems to be a Court with several dwellings. Find the census page here:
