Is this Serjeant Patrick Martin 9199 who died on 25/9/1915, oh that anniversary is today, (I'll say a little prayer for him) and commemorated on the Loos Memorial?
Details from the Medal Card

I hope some of our military experts will be able to help you, meantime do you know his parents names as this might help find him in the censuses?

I'm sorry, I don't know if these are the parents of your Patrick from WW1.

Sgt P. Martin of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment - his name is among the many inscribed in the Hall of Remembrance, in Liverpool Town Hall.

i was trying to post an answer this morning but my internet went down.
There may be another Patrick Martin who was a 13 year old at the time of the 1911 census and from the index I was able to discover that the family were living somewhere in the Scotland Road area and his parents are Patrick 38, Margerate 32, and siblings Bridget 10, and Mary Ann 6.
Do these names mean anything to you from family stories?
Bridget's birth was given as Liverpool, so it's possible they were here in 1901, however Patrick and his parents had Ireland for a birthplace.
