How do you know the birth years for Wm & Florence?
(Making them both 30 when they married)
I can't find her in births in Lpool area or in 1901.

I've found this:

1911 census has a Florence Isabel Sale 3yrs in W Dby
John 29, Rebecca Margeret as spelt 29
John Larwrence as spelt 8yrs.

In Lancs BMD which Mary suggested is a marriage of John Sale to Rebecca M Whittle 1902 Everton St Ambrose.

Do you know of Flo's siblings at all, this could help us find their mother's maiden name.
There is another child Dorothy maiden Whittle 1913 W Dby.

florence was born in1901 and william 1900 i know this is correct as i have found this in the birth records through ancestry, florence had 2 brothers tom and ted,tom emigrated to australia in late 60,s early 70,s don,t no what happened to ted only no he was an artist thats the only information i have on the sales.....william clark don,t no if he had any siblings. jan

Luckily you aren't too far away from the Record Office, hopefully you could do a look up for the marriage and then you'll have a lot of definite information for us to work from.
