Liverpool directories 1950's and 1960's

Wonder if anyone has directories for these periods, and what information would they give.
I am sorry I have no idea what information to expect,and would they help me discover names of people ar certain address's or are they just trade directories,hope this is not a stupid question :oops:

I have a 1962 Directory it just lists the head of the house and their address no occupation.

For along time the occupation of the head of household was given but this came to a halt - sorry but don't know the date. At all dates most addresses were listed, by street/road, with name of head, with another list of names, alphabetically, then trade lists etc.

Collete,
Would it be possible please, to find 2 address's for me.
The first Is :
9 Granville Ave ,Maghull.
I think the owner/occupier is Albert W GEENWOOD,.
I have been unable to find out what the initial W stands for! to help in further research.

Secondly the address : 5 Waldgrave rd, Liverpool 15,as a matter of interest.
My paternal grandfather Alexander H Robinson had died in 1958-BUT the mystery of the informant D.O. Robinson,who is he/she?, would thios person still be at this address co-incidence the surname is the same??

Thanks daggers,such a shame,as any info at all is most welcome to all of us.

Hi Tina,

Still hot and sticky here!

Alexander H Robinson was aged 60 on death cert,-Royal Ordinance Rectifier
This death cert was found in my late grandmothers posessions,and kept by my aunt until her death,AND only recently surfaced.
Alexander married NELLIE ( ELLEN) BOYLE on 1/12/1915 in AUCHNACLOY Co Tyrone N Ireland.
Also said he was illigitimate. :roll:

No one in the family believes there was a divorce, at all-but it seems the separation between Nellie and Alexander happened just about 1938 ish, he would have been young enough to have entered another relationship,and perhaps if so the person too on Robinson surname ??
Hope that makes sense.
