Thanks again. I shall look at this more closely.
And thanks for being a transcriber so that people like e can look things up from anywhere in the world (I am in France at the moment!)

This is certainly interesting. I think Jane ELiza is the unmarried mother of my great grand father John James Radcliffe who was born around 1859. Unfortunately I have never been able to find his birth at GRO or his baptism anywhere. Jane Eliza married John Wordsworth in 1869 but I think already had 2 children by then and went on to have about 9 more!
John James died in 1936 but his grandson who died last year did not know his birthday. It's just one of those brick walls!
Best wishes
Jane

I know the problems!! I started transcribing to try to find my 2x Gt Grandfathers baptism which I thought just might be at St Peters as his parents got married there & he got married there. But there are just so many churches in Liverpool Its proving to be a bit of an uphill struggle- he's not at St Peters. I cant find his birth anywhere either.
He must be somewhere that I dont expect to find him.!!

I've not got the records for 1859 (up to now) so I cant check them for you but will keep my eyes open.

Thanks for looking I sent for this certificate and unfortunately it is not the right one - this John James has William as his father and Ellen as mother. On my John James marriage cert his father is given as John James a Soldier and probably that is not true. Mine appears in the 1861 census with his grandparents Richard and Ann and Jane Eliza is elsewhere at that time.
Anyway thanks again.
