Hi i wonder if anyone can help me, i am researching my family name Aindow and see that we originate from Lancashire and in1800s Walton on the Hill. Can anyone give me any information regarding what the place was like then, eg population, occupation, and general information about the area at that time.

Hi and welcome to the forum. The area of Walton on the Hill, as Susan says, spreads out from St Mary's Church which was at one time the Parish Church.

N.M in 1841 there are Aindow's in Walton on the Hill, when I looked at census it's states Formby. (see John aged 80)
I thought this would be of interest to you!.

There are still lots of Aindows in Formby and surrounding areas !!!!

I have fiche for parish records St.Peter's Church, Formby - there are quite a few on there.

Formby was a detached part of the parish of Walton on the Hill. Perhaps you could be more specific with your Aindows to make sure we are telling you about the correct place!
