Does anyone know what has happened to the Lancs OPC site. I have gone to do a search and it came up This Account has been suspended. Is this permanent or just a temporary glitch?

Hi Mary
I can open the Home Page but the Search is not working.
Closed for maintenance perhaps?

If they have gone to the trouble of posting a page with that information, then I would suspect it to be temporary.

The site apparently had problems last night. these are the messages that our "Boss" sent out
We do seem to be off the air at the moment after our move to a different server.
It is being investigated. I have no idea when it will be restored, but I will
let people know when we are back, unless someone else finds out first!
We are now back on the air.
The problem on the new host lay with the Search Function. To get us back into
operation, I have had to disable the Search, all you will get now is a page
apologising that the function is not available.
Other than that, we are up and running again.
It does mean we will need to find a new host to run the site before we can
restore the Search Function.

We received this update from Paul on Lan OPC this morning that we could post on other forums we belong to
Lancashire OPC recently moved to a new internet hosting service. Since then, we have experienced some technical problems which we are working hard to resolve and to ensure the long term viability of our site. We are a very popular website, and our needs have at times exceeded the capacity available to us via this new host, despite assurances that were given when we moved. We are making improvements to the way the site access is controlled, and hope we will soon be in a position to reinstate the powerful 'search' facility. At the moment, all the data is still available and may be found by surname index via our 'parish pages'. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience

Thank you for the further update Linda, such great work done by all of you volunteers, it's a shame to be let down by a service provider.
Quite right though, we can still make searches through the links at the side and we are grateful for the huge database that is available to us.
