My Grandfathers Brother, Thomas Gaynor died at the age of 16 in Cornwallis st public baths, on the 13 june 1905. There was a Coroners Inquest into his death, held on the 1st july 1905. Could anyone help me in obtaining the Coroners Report, any suggestions would be really greatfull. Thanks. Betty.

I think a phone call or two to the Liverpool numbers listed here on part of the Liverpool Records site would provide the info you need as to how to access the record of an inquest, if it still exists. I discovered from this site that coroners have a legal obligation to retain records only for a minimum of 15 years. Thereafter, it's a decision of the individual coroner as to what happens to the records.

Registers for Coroners inquests are held at the Liverpool Record Office on microfilm ref M347 COR. You could also consult the local papers to see if it was reported.
