Hello,

Anyone researching Rutherford on the board ?
I have a Margaret Rutherford b1875 Walton -Margaret was one of 11 children born to Clement George Rutherford and Elizabeth Simpson.
Margarets siblings are as follows:
John Adam,Clement George,Sarah Elizabeth,
Charles Messenger,Eliza,Thomas Stenhouse,Martha,Pyarea,Mary & Samuel.
Margaret married my grt grt Uncle John Henry Jackson in 1901 (I have the marriage cert)..Jackson is the line am following and is proving difficult,so am hoping by doing a side step I may find out more info(!) John & Margaret had one known daughter Irene Audrey b 1905(info from the 1911 census).

Hi, sorry you don't seem to have had a response to your post. Which censuses do you have him on?

Can you give us some details from the marriage certificate, his age, address, occupation and father's details, also the witnesses are often useful too.

Where were they living in 1911 and do you have their birthplaces?

Margaret and John Married 27Nov 1901 St Mary Walton(you kindly did the look up for me !) witness's :William Roberts & Thomas Stenhouse Rutherford (Margaret's brother)

1911 Census :
Margaret Rutherford was living with her husband John Henry Jackson at 48 Osborne Road Tuebrook,head of the household was John's brother Thomas William Jackson,(no children born to him and his wife Eliza Langley).
John was unemployed estate agent "Thomas & Aulton" (carnt find these in trade directorys).

Margaret and John had a daughter Irene Audrey Jackson b1905.
I have tracked the Rutherfords back to 1841 in Liverpool and the Jackson's I have done ok'ish with,I was hoping really for link with Irene Jackson and thought I may find it via anyone who may have been researching the branch of Rutherfords I have in my tree.

So you are really looking for descendants rather than ancestors.

I would suggest that you post in the Old Pals section of http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/ as you may have more luck.

If Irene survived and married there are only a couple of entries in the Liverpool area that you may wish to check out.

Irene Jackson to Samuel Redfern Q4 1931 West Derby 8b 548
Irene Jackson to Philip Doyle Q1 1932 Liverpool 8b 318 Liverpool, Register Office or Registrar Attended - possibly a Catholic marriage
Irene A Jackson to John G Rose Clubmoor, St. Andrew Q2 1932 West Derby 8b 473

For location and also because of the middle initial, the last one seems to be most likely.
