Hi Dickiesam
Can you look at the Teresa one....Victoria and i have been on this search for over a year now, Teresa Rebecca Lockwood married name Halsall just disapeared..her hubby is down as married in 1891..NO TERESA TO BE FOUND.. then he remarried 1895 if my memory is right, and claimed he was a widow. Others doing the Lockwood tree are also stumped with Teresa..the only thing we can think of is she either left and went abroad or got with another man and shes under his name..

Hi Tina
Iria found the original - dont know how she managed to find Mrs Lockwood on the Majestic but she sent me a link to it !
The Lockwood family had two graves at Ford RC cemetery and Teresa and William's baby is buried there but no sign of a death for Teresa so we looked to see if she could have emigrated!

Hi Colette et al,
Your wish is my command........ Is this her? It's the only one with an exact match in all search categories.

Don't know what the 'Spst' means under 'Occupation/profession'. Most of the young men on the passenger list are shown as 'Mech'. Could be Mechanic? A lot of the young women have the Spst entry.
Hope this find is useful.
Cheers,
Dickiesam

Hi Education Officer,
Would tend to agree about Spinster except that there are quite separate columns for indicating 'Married' or 'Single'. And, this entry is under Occupation, Profession or Calling of passengers?
Dickiesam
PS: Edit for adding a graphic. Just figured out how to do it.. hope it works.

Teresa Halsall (nee Lockwood)
Hi,
Have you checked out this birth? Same name as her hubby, and, oddly enough, the same year/qtr they married?
Births Dec 1884:
Halsall, William Henry - W. Derby - 8b - 553.
Then there is this: Deaths Jun 1885:
HALSALL, William Henry - 0 - W. Derby - 8b - 388.
In the absence of other possibles this seems to be the same child. Could this have had a bad effect on the parents' relationship? If this child is their's a cert might give you the then current address.
Unfortunately the Findmypast migration passenger records only start in 1890 and I haven't found your Teresa there as Halsall or Lockwood.
Regards,
Dickiesam
PS: Note for the Education Officer! I now believe you are correct in your suggestion that the entry SPST in Occupation/Profession etc of passengers stood for Spinster. While searching this evening I came across several entries of SPIN for Misses in that same column. How quaint to assume that being a spinster was a career or occupation!

Hey its looking promising
If she was running away from Will Henry.. she may use her own name
We know they lost a daughter, so maybe a son too..Vic and i believe Will Henry was having a fling with his cousin.. who he later marries, and this could be the cause of the marriage not working out threes a crowd and all that.
Theres a couple of kids born before his marriage to Sarah his cousin.
Prob is where to now if she did go to USA she may have married again

Teresa Rebecca Halsall (nee Lockwood)
Hi,
68pages mentions a graves in Ford with the remains of Teresa and a baby.
Do we have the dates of the burials and a name for that baby?
And if Teresa had left the country, why go to all the trouble of shipping her remains home for burial? Quite an expense for a working class family.

Hi Teresa isn't buried in Ford..her baby daughter is..its a plot her brother bought..his own child is in it too.
This is the problem she just disapears.. her hubby is down as married in 1891 lodging in Toxteth..we have searched all deaths for her and nothing..he says he is a widower when he remarries.

Speaking without a moderator's hat on -
I'm VERY skeptical when people say they are widowed yet there is no evidence of a death, I simply believe they have committed bigamy! - there speaks a woman with the same problem.

Bigamy!
Hi Mary - I think that too but one thing that I dont understand is that William and Sarah had two children and she was pregnant with the third before they got round to getting married!
This is the baby of William Halsall and Teresa - Alice Elizabeth Halshall, died at 14 Lancelots L12, age 6months, int 10/4/1889 buried at Ford.
