A Breakthrough on Lunt 1956 !!!

Hello peoples,
Been busy getting house ready for sale here in Jaen Spain.
Hoping to go to Brittany !!
Riight, thro a friend in Ulster, I have been able to roughly ascertain where my grandfather James Peter Lunt was in 1956--(HE WAS BORN IN 1887and married Margaret Eleanor Roberts 1909 Liverpool)
I have had huge problems as grandparents had moved to Ulster, found Margaret Eleanors death in Ulster in 1956-then lost James Peter.
This grave has now been found!
The address I have for him is JAS P LUNT,
9 Granville Ave ,
Maghull
Can anyone give me any info on who lived at that address then.
I have searched for his death in Ulster-but it seems he returned HOME !!
so maybe get lucky with his death, I mentioned previously in other posts, I suspected he had gone to one of his daughters-maybe Gladys Noreen or Doris Margaret--but of course they would be married by then.
Here's hoping

Hi Elsa-Mary
Good luck with moving house and to another country too..
Was it too hot for you in Spain sometimes?
Thanks for update re Lunts and that you've found the grave for James.
You didn't give a year for his death. 1956?
One of the crew may have a Directory, we hope, near the year for Maghull.

Hi Tina,
Yes at present here in La Bobadila De Alcaudete ( sound posh) it is about 43 degs-will be rising to about 50 by August !!!
Used to be able to cope with high temps--lived in S Africa in Eastern Transvaal many years ago--cannot do it now, think it comes with poor circulation etc !!!
You have no idea how much I look forward to RAIN
NOW IT IS MARGARET eEEANOR'S GRAVE THAT HAS BEEN FOUND ( MY GRANDMOTHER)
James Peter it seems, possibly some time after her death returned to Liverpool
9 Granville Ave Maghull is the last address for him.
This address could be one of his daughters,as he was about 70yrs old--he was born in 1887.
I hoped some angel out there had a directory OR something--( magic wand!!) so might have name of person owning or renting that address.
Bless You Girl.

Hi
I don't think Maghull appears in Liverpool directories of the time. I would contact Crosby Library and see if they have electoral rolls for Maghull and see if James appears then.
I should then go through the COMPLETE GRO index from 1956 looking for a death of James. Maghull would I suspect have come under Ormskirk registration district at this time but I am not sure and will check. Maghull was in the Ormskirk registration district until 1974.

Hi Education Officer,
This information came fromfuneral directors ledger of April 1956, this was the address for James Peter in April 1956.
Sorry this is all I can tell you.
As I am in Spain, there is no hope of me be able to go to any offices with records--just hoped someone maybe had directory or something.
Cheers

I did not suggest that you should go to any offices. I suggested that
1. You should contact Crosby Library (you can do this by email) and ask if they have electoral rolls for Maghull for the later 1950's. They might then do a quick look up for you
2. That you search the COMPLETE GRO indexes for a death of James. These are online at Ancestry and Find My Past. I also gave you the registration district that covered Ormskirk.
Both my suggestions could be carried out byyourself wherever you live.

See also your other post
http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... php?t=7501 where I made suggestions as to research you ARE able to carry out yourself.
Keep in mind that if you find details of younger people at the date you are interested in, they may still be living, so discretion with their details will be good.
