Ancestry has completed the transcription of the English and Welsh marriage index up to 1983, meaning the collection is now complete from 1837 to 2005. The indexes are fully searchable. The bonus is that for marriages post 1912(ish) you can now find the spouse without having to guess from a list of others on the page.
Must be some I need to find but of course can't think who at the moment.

Hi folks,
Not trying to knock Ancestry. Just thought I'd let you know that FindmyPast have had those trancriptions online together with birth and deaths for several years now. And the BMDs for 1984 to 2006 are name searchable for the entire period of 22 years.

No more trawling through the quarterly indexes for a match from 1984 onwards. A name search will throw up a list of hits from '84 to '06. A deaths search will have the actual dates of birth of each hit so you can eliminate the non-matches.
Cheers,
Dickiesam
