1901 census look-up, please?

Is anyone able to look up a Miss Amelia Barber who may have run a school or similar in Aigburth/Grassendale area around 1901. If found, what is the household? Names are not important, just approx. numbers.
Directory entries around that time to give length of residence would also help.
Many thanks for the help which is always forthcoming!

Hi Daggers
1901 Census
Address looks like The Coombs, Grassendale Park
Amelia Barber Head age 68 School Mistress
Benjamin Barber brother age 62 Cotton Dealer
Thomas F H Twibell nephew age 35 Stock Brokers Clerk
Mary Barnes servant
Doesn't look like a school tho', just private residence

That was quick - I turned round to open a window, and the answer was waiting!
That is just what I wanted, and the house was/is certainly not large enough for boarders.
Thank you v. much

Hi Daggers
1894 Directory Miss Barber and Benjamin Barber were next door to the Coombs, property named Esplanade.
1911 Miss Amelia is at The Esplanade, no Benj.
I'm wondering if Coombs was incorrect in 1901, the enumerator missing the house name of Esplanade?

Hi again
1881 Amelia in Grass. Park no house or number as Head of Ladies School. With her are Benj & her young nephew, cook & waitress.
Perhaps she was in charge of a school locally and not in her home.
1861 would you like details Daggers, her bro is head of house Clergyman/Schoolmaster & there are 3 pupils.
Cheers

Great stuff!
Esplanade is the name of a riverside road, rather than a house name, and is round the corner from the road where The Coombs stands.
Was the brother [clergyman etc] the same as Benjamin, the cotton dealer?
Could you let me have the 1861 details, please. Was the house called The Coombs then?

Hi Daggers
Have been trying to find Amelia in 1891 without success.
Found The Coombs tho' with a Betsy Harrison being the head of household. It is also giving the address as 1 Grassendale Road.
Looked through all the houses in Grassendale Road, but no sign of the Barbers.
The enumerators writing is tiny and the name may have been transcribed incorrectly. I looked at Barker, any other ideas of a name it could have been transcibed as?
Cheers

Yes please - 1851 would round it off. It is the house I am looking into, and it is hard to find out when it was built, as the enumerators did not always use house names, and this lot were not numbered until much later. Possibly built by '51, but not '41.
Even Steven in the Ashes, so far! Raining here in the Pool, so may have nothing to watch later.

Can I ask if you have time to look in the 1871 census for the following names, found in Green's 1870 Directory of Liverpool with addresses in Grassendale Park.
What I am after is the order of enumeration, in other words, to try and locate the various houses in Grassendale Park, and to track the house names which varied over the years.
If this is too big an ask, let me know. I do not want to wear out anyone who sat through the agonies of yesterday's Test Match!!!
Green’s 1870 Directory has the following entries showing Grassendale Park as address, in pp 606 ff:
Campbell, Lord A Salem Villa
Hughes, Miss Mary Ann Mitford Lodge
Hutchinson, Joseph Lime House
Goodacre, Charles Welton
Kershaw, Wm
Larner, Charles
Leyland, Ralph
Pohlman, Wm
Moss, Sydney
Saunders, Wm
Sutton, HG
Swainson, John South Bank, Grassendale [not Park]
Watts, Joseph AD
Lakin, Samuel School
Rimmer park keeper

Hi Daggers
I've sent 2 from Anc@, not sure if you will get them okies.
Please let me know.
The two I've sent have house numbers not names of homes.
If all else fails, I will print and send snail mail
Cheers

I have just the one from Anc..., showing numbers 1-5, timed at 11.30 our time. Helpful even though it is house numbers, not named houses. Please do not think of sending by snail - too complicated, not to mention the cost!
Needless to say, your message was surrounded by adverts wanting me to sign up...

Hi Richard
I didn't know I could save them to my computer.
I've just sent pages 3/4/5 as an attachment.
Fingers crossed you can open them.
Best wishes
