Catten Lad, what is it?

Post by evans11 »

My grandfather is reported to have been a "Catten Lad" does anyone know what sort of job this was please?

He was doing this job when he was 17 in 1901, any help would be great

Catten lad?

Hi,
Where was your grandfather living in 1901 and could you give us his name?
That occupation may have been in local 'lingo', etc.

Catten lad?

Hello Susan,
I did think of 'Cotten' but the 'lad' would probably have to be in Lancashire to be in a Cotton Mill. Hence my question about where he was in 1901 and his name so we could go and look. Then I thought 'he's 17 and still called a lad'?

well I guess we will have to wait for "Evans11" to give us the census ref so we can take a look at the original.
