Coroners Report

My G Grandfather died in 1956 and in the informant section of his death certificate, it reads, "Certificate received from J A Blackwood, Coroner for Liverpool, Inquest held 1st February 1956".

Will the records office have details of the coroners report? Am I allowed to see it as I am only his Great Grandchild, and not his own child.

Is it all possible to see obituary notices from the Liverpool Echo dating back to the 1950's and beyond?

Thank you

Hi, have a look at the Liverpool Records Office Website, it has loads of info on Inquest Registers held on Microfilm. They also have lots of Newspapers on Film to look at. Hope this is of some help - Holly

Not all Coroners Reports are available, but you might find it reported in the newspaper.

There are certainly a lot of newspapers but I'm not sure of the most recent date, if nobody knows if they are available as recently as you want, perhaps give them a ring and ask, otherwise it might be that you would need to enquire directly with the Liverpool Post and Echo.
