Found on IGI but hoping for more info on original record, the following marriage...
James EDMUNDSON and Esther JONES 4 Feb 1833
Childwall parish church
Actually they spelled his name EDMUNSON incorrectly.

Or a heads up as to if this can be found online or through a record office
somewhere.

Much thanks.

Hi Ratty
Welcome!
I think All Saints is the parish church and Mary our moderator has some records on CD, not sure of the time frame. There are also records at the Lpool Records Office.
When the night shift awakens, there will be plenty of help for you.

Good luck

Unfortunately the only records available on CD for All Saints, Childwall are early ones 1681-1753.

The date you are looking at is available in the Liverpool Record Office so I hope somebody is going soon, our crew are great and they will do a look up for you.

Are you aware that pre 1837 marriages don't give father's names. If you are lucky you will get the occupations and whether they live in parish or if not then a note of which parish they live. There may also be witnesses detailed.

Ah! sad that there is no fathers names as Im trying to prove the link but anything will do really, all grist to the mill so to speak.

Actually the spouse is from Childwall (I think) but he was born in Northumberland and was a widower living in Warrington, maybe it will confirm some of this then.

This is the only record I need for Childwall and the first Ive come across in Liverpool,so I dont really want to shell out for a cd just now .

Thanks for your help and the welcome

You can't anyway since there isn't one to buy.

Just to let everybody know, that I've been pushing the L & SWL Committee about looking into the possibility getting the in between years (1754-1837) made available for transcribing. It's not an easy task since permissions may be required from the LDS who filmed the registers and/or the church itself. But at least they know that these are registers that are very much wanted by a lot of people.

Well thanks for that,

I would be very grateful if someone would add it to their list of lookups at Liverpool record office next visit.
Best regards
