I am looking for any details on Margret Doherty (My GGGrandmther). Margaret was the daughter of John and Ellen Doherty and was babtised at St James the Less in Liverpool on 11/04/1887. She married William Leece Sheard in 1909.

I have no details of my Doherty family line other than Margarets mother was married twice and that she had 1 brother (John Doherty C1889 ) and 3 half brothers and sisters - Elizabeth Jones C1875, Ellen Jones C1877 and Richard Jones C1879) I would love to know Margaret Mothers maiden name and I suspect she may have bee in Caernarfon North Wales or if there are any members who have this family in their family tree.

Free BMD have a marriage in Carnarvon
for John William Doherty to Ellen Jones
june qtr 1883 11b 693.

1901 there is Margaret Doherty 15 bn Lpool visiting in Carnarvon
staying with Catherine transcribed as Gehan. Catherine bn Lpool

Not a lot of help in finding maiden name before Jones unless you send for marriage certificate.

I went back to the 1871 and found this entry

Ellen Evans b 1853 Llanor Caernarvon working as a servant

Unfortunately - there are several Ellen Evans marriages to ??Jones in Caernarvon between 1871-1875 so if you want to find her first husband you would need a copy of one of the Jones childrens birth certs which is easier said than done as there are lots of possibles on freebmd for all 3 children

If you get her marriage cert to Doherty it will show her fathers name and occupation - if it's John Evans then this is probably the family in 1861. Ellen was working in Aberech in 1871

In 1881 - Ellen was living in Llanbeblig and there is no 1881 entry for an Elizabeth with parents Owen and Ellen
