Henry Sheard on Isle of Man

I have previously posted on the forum but gave up my research into my family tree due to the frustration of not being organised and losing things after finding them - especially when it came into looking for Henry Sheard. But I have remarried got a bigger waste bin and larger table to work on - so here goes again

I have two Henry Sheards in my Family tree. My first Henry Sheard is the son of Ann Fick and A N Other (though i did have details of his father which I wrote on a scrap of paper and the source and which I then promptly lost) in c 1851 and his son Henry sheard (mother Esther Leece). I suspect that Henry Sheard senior (my Great Great Grandfather) died at a young age as in the 1891 census Esther Leech is listed as widow.

Henry Sheard junior I also suspected died at an early age and was my Great Grand Fathers William Leece Sheard brother being the son of both Henry Sheard (senior) and Esther Leech and was born in 1883.

If you have any details on either of these two Henry Sheards or have these in your family tree or William Leece Sheard who married Margaret Doherty in Liverpool in 1909

Remarried? are you really trying hard to confuse your descendants when they come to create their own tree?

Can you please clarify that both of these Henry Sheards were born and living in Liverpool, I see no entry in the marriage registers for an Ann Fick.

Please give details from the 1891 census and references that you have - is Esther's name Leece or Leech? and was she married to Henry's father making her a Sheard when she was widowed since I don't find that name in the 1891 census.

Forget all above, just realised you are talking about the Isle of Man, not Liverpool.

PS you could perhaps assist your mother with some of the links I sent her by mail, I did send the document to the address of "a cousin?" I think it was, but didn't get any response.

Anybody able to assist with BMD's on the Isle of Man? otherwise we might get a bit stuck with only the censuses.

To go back to the 1861 census, and the reason for this is because in the 1871 census there are two Hy Sheards and in the 1881 census there are three.

Back Shore Street, German, Isle of Man
All born Peel, IOM
Ann Frick or Hick Head Un 38 No occupation
Eleanor Frick or Hick Sister Un 34

I believe your mother may have more information since she submitted an error regarding the spelling of Henry's surname.

Brilliant
It looks like there may have been a further two children I knew nothing about. You have made my day. Once again thanks

I noticed parents Jessie Leece with Daniel Sheard amongst the list of births and wondered if brothers had married sisters. So far I haven't found Jessie but I thought the 1861 census entry for Esther was interesting.

I'd still love to find out who was the father of Henry Sheard snr. Have had no luck there at all, so can't fit them into our tree yet.

I was wondering if you would bob up here Sue and whether anything would fit with your family.

Douglas has a Mason link that I've tried to fit into some of mine, without success unfortunately, but imagine that six degrees of separation if we did .... we could find ourselves related!

Well he must be part of the Sheard clan from the IoM as there's no record of any other Sheards c1851 on the IoM. Just a shame I can't place him until it can be said who his father was.
Details have been very sketchy on the census with the Henry son of Ms Vick/Fick with his age anyway

Related by marriage Mary, not that I even have that anymore!
