Hi

Do you already have this entry from the IGI?

EDWARD THOMAS STRANGE Christening: 20 OCT 1829 Saint John And St Mary, Cardiff Father: JOHN STRANGE Mother: ELIZABETH

To avoid any duplication of information - do you already have all available census entries for the people listed above

Church Warden

Hi theres mention of an Edward Strange as one of the Church Wardens for Holy Trinity Toxteth being re elected in the 1880s..In the Liverpool Mercury..

This could be your man..he could have any job but also do this..unless theres another Edward Strange in the parish ?

Off topic
Please let me share this with you.
I've just had a good chuckle, Edward is a journeyman sawyer in 1851 lodging in Tox Park.
I had a contact quite a few years back who had John 21 lawyer, living in the Forest of Bowland, father woodsman.
They asked where would he have studied to be a lawyer and qualified so young. Hello??
What a put down for them when I explained he was a sawyer.
Ho Hum.
Thanks

Tina

Does that mean that you DO or you DON'T have the censuses. Best to say so before they all go for their look ups!

You can search the 1881 census yourself but I think this might be the entry for the Backhouses

91 Upper Stanhope Street, Toxeth Park
William Backhouse Head M 27 Liverpool Pilot Lancashire Liverpool
Mary E Wife 28 Liverpool
William E son 1 "
/
Elizabeth Pycraft Wife M 22 "
RG11; Piece: 3635; Folio: 39; Page: 11

There are records for the Liverpool Pilots in the Maritime Museum

Albert V Strange married Ann Shaw Toxteth Park, Holy Trinity Q3 1916 8b 227
Rebecca Strange married Nathaniel H Lawrensonn Toxteth Park, St. Michael Q3 1913 8b 349

Possible
Eliza A Strange married Arthur F Dodd 1920 Liverpool, Register Office or Registrar Attended

Another possible, although she would be 41 when she married
Marie Strange married Roderick D Macintyre Wavertree, Holy Trinity 1931.

Maybe not since Marie isn't at home with the family in 1911, but I don't see a death either.
