Hi there..

In 1901 are they at 57 Upper Beau St ?? sons John and Thomas ??

Do you have the marriage cert for this William & Jane ??

Do you have the marriage cert for Wiliam & Johanna ??

Does Williams age tally up with both marriages..

Who is bridde no 2 if Johanna was bride no 3 ???

Is it the same fathers name and occupation on both certs ??

Sorry for all the questions bt need a bit more info..

Regards

I am worried that the Jane Preston marriage just says William and the Johanna Borris nee Ravenscrost says William B...

Hi Colette
Johanna Borris nee Ravenscroft married William Bradburn Wheeler 17th Oct.1909 (2nd wife)
William Bradburn Wheeler married his sister in law Margaret Wheeler
10th July 1922( 3rd wife)
William is living at 49 upper Beau street in 1901 with Jane Wheeler age 30 and sons john 4 & Thomas 18 months
Jane wheeler died age 38 1909 states she is a widow
1911 census Johanna Wheeler is living at 5 Lundie street with Reginald (son from 2nd marriage) John Wheeler age 13 Thomas W age 11 and Alice W age 4 no mention of William but i presume he was at sea as he is a seaman
i do have these certificates but i do not have Williams 1st marriage certificate but i think it was 1896 at St Peters church Liverpool
many thanks

Hi

Why if shes your Jane has someone put down a widow on her death cert..also did she have an address other than the workhouse infirmary, on the death cert ??

If she is Jane and Widow is a mistake it didn't take William long to move on and remarry did it..

It confirms its the same family as you have the two boys with Johanna in 1911.

Hi folks
Thinking out loud.
I had thought Jane who died in the workhouse was the wrong one however I cannot find another in 1901.
As for her being a widow, I've no idea.
It's possible she had been in the infirmary for a number of years before she died, William during this time taken up with Johanna who has his child.
Jane dies in Sep 1909 & Wm & J marry in Dec 1909, waiting for her death?
Which would explain while little Alice W (4 in 1911) was born before marriage.

Chat later

Hi

Liverpool workhouse admissions' registers etc are at Liverpool Record Office. You could find her admission etc that way which hopefully/might prove she's your lady.

Hi Mags
It doesn't seem be related to TB.
Possibly a few causes, tumour in the intestines, fallopian tubes.
Results in high fever, bloated stomach etc.
Or problem in various tubes, causing the trots.
Treated today with anti bio's.

You're right mate, the address in Soho St is the clue.
Was it a lodging house at that time?
Why was Jane listed as a widow?

I'm sure the crew will agree that you should post a separate link for your look up request, to catch the eye of the regular kind people who go to LRO.
William Wheeler to Jane Preston, St Peters 1896
march qtr Lpool 8b p50.

Back then people sometimes waited 3 months, as a mark of respect, before re-marrying.

This is a good 'un!
