No Charles Goodlass listed in 1914

There are two Ronald McDonald listed different spellings of surname

Ronald Macdonald 132 Wavertree Vale, Wavertree (no occ given)
Ronald McDonald - Rivetter 15 Grenville Road, Tranmere.

Driving going well just drove from Silvester St home yipppppi first time driving around Liverpool ..he was worse for wear.. so i had to ..went to a Christening party..took a walk down the road.towards Vauxhall Rd.. were my son and his mates were playing in the park.. was that St Martins Recreation ground..and before was it St Martins In The Fields.. i am just curious as the old wall still remains all around the park area..


Anyway back to Ronald McDonald..i am helping a Suzanne and all she has to go on is her Grandads birth cert 1915 Beaconsfield St Wavertree.. name Ronald McDonald mother Ella McDonald.

Family say Ella was 17 when she had Ronald.. she gave him up to a Charles & Mary Goodlass..

She is assuming Ella was an Isabella and had been following the wrong family..

She had an Andrew & Ann McDonald in Toxteth as Isabella's parents..but i have found

Ronald McDonald & Isabella Silcock marriage 1895 daughter Hope Isabella Whilemina McDonald born 1897 baptised St Marys Walton On Hill

1901 Isabella and Daughter Hope Isabella are in Wavertree at Isabellas sisters Elizabeth Comer's house.
By 1911 Ronald ..Isabella and Hope Isabella are at 132 Wavertree Vale..

Same as 1911 directory..and 1915.. i am trying to connect Beaconsfield Rd with this Ronald & Isabella..just waiting for the house number.. of Suzanne.

I also found the marriage for Charles Goodlass and Mary Wynne 1916..so if they never married till 1916, i dont think they could have adopted little Ronald straight away..they also lived in Wavertree..and apparently knew the family ?????

I see Charles H Goodlass married in Toxteth, there is a Charles H Goodlass in Toxteth on the 1901, father Robert.

I think a copy of the marriage cert would be needed to get any info from that.

I will get back to you ASAP.

Could only find Beaconsfield Street (Princes Road) in Toxteth and Beaconsfield Road (Woolton), and Beaconsfield Road Walton.

There was a Lizzie Brown Orton (Nurse) at 17 Beaconsfield Street in Toxteth, and the other two didn't have 17 listed.

It was Beaconsfield St Wavertree.. so the Nurse one will be right.. maybe she was a midwife

Just checked 1938 & 1962 and Miss Isabella MacDonald is still there daughter of Ronald & Isabella..so she never married..

Can't find this Ronald in 1901 hes not with his wife Isabella born 1868 at Stevenson St..maybe hes a seaman..

Suzanne says.. that Ella was gong to marry the father when he came back from War.. but he was killed..she was 17 years old when she had son Ronald..born c 1898ish.

Do you think i could be on the right track with this family i found

Found birth in newspaper Aug 8th 1897 32 Breeze Hill daughter to Ronald Macdonald.

Also 1890s a piece about the Pure Beverage Company..Ronald Macdonald was a Promoter for this firm, so could have travelled about..

So Isabella never married

Alot of this is guess work because she called her son RONALD and she lived in Wavertree, i could be wrong on all this.
We could be looking for an Eleanor or an Ellen.

Ronald was born 1915 mother Ella MacDonald 17 Beaconsfield St..

Thats all we have to go on really.. Ella adopted Ronald to Charles H Goodlass and wife Mary.apparently the family knew this couple ?? family rumours.

1915 directory has a Nurse at 17 Beaconsfield St, so i recon Ella has just gone there to give birth, so that doesnt help as its not her address..to be honest if Ella gave little Ronald up in 1916. as this is when Charles & Mary Goodlass married.. it would have to be Charles & Mary who have told Ronald stuff IE your mother was 17 when she had you..wouldnt it.

As he never knew his mother..and if it is this Isabella i have found in Wavertree.. she would have lived not too far away, so it must have been awful for her if she saw him with them.

Plus if it is her we know she never married so no other kids to find.

I have tried on Friends Reu... as there are some people on there who lived in Wavertree Vale in the 50's & 60's who may recall her, as she wa sthere in 1962..
