Hi I just wonder if anyone could kindly look and see if they can find anything about

James Bowden born Liverpool 1847/1848 -

married in Michigan 4 Feb 1891 to Carrie I Winans (his second marriage). Just wondered if it was reported in the papers as his family lived in Liverpool.

Thanks

Victoria

There are ovder 1100 entries for a search of just the words "James Bowden", although none when "Winans" is added.

This is the link for the Lancashire library which, if you join, also gives you access to the old newspapers site.

Thanks

Hi Victoria
If it was in the local papers surely it would have been for his first marriage?
Do you know who that was to please??
There's a James H Bowden bn 1863 Eng marriage in Michigan
Interesting as his bride's name is also Carrie (Chynowith)
19/6/1886.
Related somewhere perhaps?
This marriage is before the one to Carrie Winans (33 bn Indiana parents Richard & Mary) in 1891,James bn 1848.
Sorry me dear
Not of much help.

Warmies

Hi Tina! xx

I found a website that had the following information about James - he could be Teresa Lockwood's cousin!! Oh no I hear you say!!

He married in 1876 to Susan R Douglas - I found that his mother Mary Bowden (nee Eustace) was living with Robert Lockwood (Teresa's father) in the 1901 census - then when I looked at 1891 Mary Bowden was living at 14 Lancelot Hey - this was where Teresa and her family were living in 1881! It was an eating house - so I am just trying to find out about the Bowden family!!

Hi Tina

sorry!! I was just giving you a brief summary!! Ok I will explain very slowly.....

You know we have never found poor Teresa Lockwood :?

Well I was going through the census for 1901 for her father Robert Lockwood and found that he was living with his sister in law Mary Bowden(nee Eustace) Roberts wife was Alice Lockwood (nee Eustace she died in early 1901)

RG13/ 3423/ 41/ 30.

Ok so far
