Inquiry from new member for DAVIES Family

Post by sdavies »

Greetings
I am a new member looking for others with knowledge of or interested in a DAVIES Family of early Liverpool. Using the 1841 UK Census, I have been able to track our antecedents back to JOHN DAVIES, a painter, who lived on Gerard Street, Liverpool with his wife ELIZABETH (nee Sanders) and their then 4 children ROBERT, GRACE, MOSES and JOHN. John and Elizabeth were married at St Peters Church (C of E on Church Street) in 1833. My family is descended from their son, Moses Davies who later spent his working life as a lamp oil distributor representative traveling the Liverpool and district until the end of the 1890s.
I would welcome any and all information other members may have and would be willing to share what I have gathered so far about this family. I would also be willing to share my contact information if that is permissible within the Forum guidelines.
Thank you,
sdavies

Hello, Can you tell me if a JOHN DAVIES in your family married a LAURA SIMPSON the date I remember 1st June 1922. t register office. Liverpool and he was dock worker. If my mind remembers correctly his father was John.
I dont want to open wounds I just want to straighten things in my mind and my tree. Laura was my grandmother and when my dad was born he was registered as Edward James Coward but when Nan married John Davies my dad became known as Davies of course adoption was different in the early 1920's. I have no death or divorce records for this marriage. I have a little more information but is only things I was told and I would not repeat unless I was sure it was correct people I was telling.

I hope to hear from you soon
Barbara
