William Orrett marriage

Post by JohnnyO »

Hi all, hope you are well.

I am trying to sort out two William Orretts, one in my tree and one in someone else's.
Can any of you good people find a marriage certificate for William John Orrett marrying Mary Louisa Williams in October 1868 in Liverpool. I'm trying to find out his occupation, his father's name and father's occupation as well.
I have seen the GRO entries but need a certificate to identify properly.

In my tree I have a William Orrett marrying Margaret Jane Horabin in October 1889 in Prescot, and again the details from the certificate would help to prove things one way or another.
Thanks as ever,
John

I know it's not off the marriage cert, they had a daughter, Amelia Elizabeth, 1869 Liverpool.

William John born Cheltenham, Parents, William Henry Orrett/Amelia Elizabeth Peart, married 1847, Cheltenham, he was a Carriage Lamp Maker.

Thanks Bert, I saw the daughter mentioned, just trying to find out if they are part of my extended mob. Thanks for getting William John's parent details, that's a great starter for 10. Maybe the Cheltenham Orretts were the posh ones :)

Interesting, I have just been doing some further work on the rich cousins :D . It looks like William Henry Orrett died in 1875 and is buried in Anfield cemetery in a private grave 2 1162. His address is given as 60 Northumberland Terrace and looks like he was living there in the 1871 census. Son John and daughter Ellen (I think, very poor quality).. may have to take a trip to Anfield and see if there is a stone and who else is in there!

Alison many thanks for that, I have seen that page before but totally forgot about it. Definitely not in my family line (for now) so you have saved me a trip tomorrow, appreciate it!
