James Grimes

This is the brother of Mary Grimes from my previous post and one of the 3 children placed in the Workhouse in 1861 after the death of their parents.
I found a marriage for James to Ann Wainwright in 1896, he a widower, age more or less right, his father Charles (deceased) labourer. Great!!
In the 1901 census he has 3 children from his previous marriage living with the couple. James, William O., and Abigail. This leads to previous censuses using these children's names and shows him with his wife Abigail. This brought up a hint of a marriage between James Grimes and Abigail Burgess in 1873 both aged 20. These 2 marriages are showing on about 10 Ancestry online trees with my greats as his parents.
However there's just one discrepancy. The father of this James is showing as:
James Grimes, occupation: Brewer.
So is my second marriage a red herring as Charles (deceased) would be a pretty common name and is nothing to do with my family?
TIA
