RT,

The questions are on Facebook, which can be accessed by the link below Mary's signature.

I occasionally look in, in an attempt to answer certain enquires and advertise this forum.

Yes I have joined the Facebook Group but it is difficult to find things on it ( I don't really understand Facebook - so much of it is counter-intuitive). Today I had to search for a while to find the FB post that this forum post related to. I just think that posting answers on here when the question is somewhere else is really confusing and not a good use of the message board. I get an email alert when there is a new post on this forum and if it is one of these "FB" answers, as it often seems to be, it is usually a waste of time looking at it because there is no clue as to the context. Perhaps Bertie could send you PMs for his Facebook research instead of posting on this board? Or alternatively paste in the question as well as his answers so that we all know what the post is about?

I agree with RT on this. While I am pleased that Bertie and others are able to help with these queries, I have no desire to join Facebook, which I dislike with a passion, just to find out what the questions are. Even visiting Facebook as a non-member results in tracking cookies being placed on your computer or other device, and the results added to Google's ever-growing hoard of data about us all.

I've given my reason for answering questions occasionally on Facebook and if anyone else can come up with a way of attracting interest in this forum I'm all ears.

I'm grateful to Mary for transferring any answer posted and I will not burden her with PM's, also it's not for me to copy and paste any question when the poster on Facebook may not desire it.

I suppose the easiest solution would be for me to stop trying to increase interest in this forum, I'll leave it there.

Carry on, I always say that the reply is from "a friend on the forum" and hope that it attracts new members to come over here instead of Facebook, which I agree is not the best method of doing research, you don't know just how many times I suggest that there are a group of extremely helpful people on here, plus there is more room to post the queries and receive replies.

So Bert's responses go towards encouragement for this.
