Allerton cemetery records

Hi all, I have several Orrett relatives buried in Allerton. I have tried to look for plot name and number, but cannot find any online. I have a map of the cemetery and plot numbers, but seeing as it is such a huge site, wondered if anyone here had a link to the plot name details.

Burials at Allerton Cemetery are on familysearch, but you need to know near enough the date as there is no index, just browsable.

Thanks Mary. Unfortunately the deaths are after 1918, so it looks like no image is available, unless I can get to one of the LDS research centres. I note there is a CEM reference on the indexes. Does that mean that the records will be in Liverpool library?

I called in last night to Central library and had a look. Found my Orrett pretty quickly, but noticed 2 others on the reel, both infants. One stillborn and one died at 2 days old  Same mother. Popped in to Crosby library today to look up the family from Gores. Don't have them in my tree yet, but as he is also called John Orrett, we must be linked. They lived at 74 Ashbourne Road Toxteth Park. I have a few Orretts in Toxteth Park cemetery, but don't think this family are there.

Is there anywhere I could get a list of occupants rather than just the main occupier? Years were 1913 and 1921.

Hi Bert, many thanks for your usual superb efforts. 'My' John Orrett from 74 Ashbourne Road was a ship's joiner according to Gores. The burial record for Mona shows that she was buried on 12th September 1914, which ties in with your search. Mona and the stillborn child from 1921 are in public graves at Allerton. I have the grave details for Jeremiah Henry Orrett who was buried there in 1923, so if I pop along sometime, there may be other names on the headstone, if one still exists.

Looking at FreeBMD, John and Mona only had the 2 children, Mona and Joyce.

In my tree, in the 1911 census, I have a John Orrett, cabinet maker. They lived at 33 Dingle Mount, only 1.3 miles away from Ashbourne Road. I suppose a cabinet maker could become a ship's joiner. Maybe they moved there after they married. Think I may have to order another marriage certificate from GRO to prove it :). If that is the right John Orrett, he may be buried with Jeremiah, his father, in Allerton.

Thanks Bert, the Mona Orrett death record matches the date of birth of Mona Browning. There is also no other death for a Joyce Orrett in FreeBMD. John Orrett was age 81 when he died, which ties in with hi birth year of 1887. There were a good few Orretts in London as well, none who I have identified really.
