He is my gt gt grandfather. Where did he come from? Where did he go?
He married my gt gt grandmother Elizabeth Martin in St. Nicholas in 1826. They had four boys and one girl, two of the boys were not baptised (that I have been able to find) and he disappeared before the 1841 census. Both his daughter and his last son died before he went leaving Elizabeth with three boys. He was a bootmaker and signed at his marriage. Has anyone seen Daniel?

Hi Trudy and welcome,
The 1841 address for Elizabeth and children was Circus St, she declares herself a widow in 1851.
The 1839 baptism below has Daniel, a mariner, death at sea perhaps?

There was a mariner by the name of Daniel Booth, born circa 1795 in Dublin, died 10 August 1839.

Hi Bert etc.
Thank you for your info. You were very quick! Yes, I know Daniel was listed as a mariner in the baptism record, but the two entries above were mariner,s but on the actual death certificate for Henry on 22nd September, 1839 it states Daniel is a Bootmaker. When his sons married they said he was a boot/shoemaker and I think the clergy at the baptism copied the two above, thinking that he was the same. His first son, Robert, was baptised in St Peter's, Church Street. His daughter, Mary, was baptised five days later in St. Peter's Priory. Mary died when she was 7 months and was buried in St. John's Old Haymarket as a papist. Perhaps he went to sea after the death of Henry. Just to muddy the waters, Elizabeth had a son Henry age 6 in 1851, and George Henry with her in 1861 census. Could he have been a son of Daniel's or perhaps.........not.

Hi Folks,
Thank you for your help, The Death certificate states "son of Daniel Booth - Bootmaker" and was registered by Elizabeth Booth "present at the death" by making her mark. There is no indication that Daniel was deceased. Child was 1 Year 8 months old. Strange for him to be baptised only 18 days before his death!
Have you any further information on the Daniel Booth, mariner who died in August 1839?
