I am currently doing my Grandmother's family, all has gone well up until now. I am trying to find out about an Issac Dickenson he was married at the Parish church of St Nicholas in Liverpool on 11th January 1816 to a woman named Jane Burgess (widow). I wondered if anyone can help me find out more about Issac's family from the parish records.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The only Isaac Dickenson I can see in the 1841 census is living in Rose Hill, age 50, labourer with wife Betty 50 and Thomas 15 Enginesmith, Curwine C? 15, and William 10.
Would this be the same man in a second marriage?
Your Isaac and Jane appear to have had two daughters baptised in St Nicholas, Martha and Phoebe on 24 Sep 1827. The address given is Smithfield Street and his occupation is Block Maker.
He's not listed in the 1825 & 1827 Directories.
There are two entries for Isaac Dickenson in the 1843 Directory.
Book keeper, Holt Hill, Tranmere, Cheshire
Shopkeeper, 15 Richmond Street

Thank you for your help, Issac was indeed a block fitter ( as was mentioned during my appointment with the local genealogist at the local library this week). Is there any way of finding out about who Issac's parents were?

is there a marriage certificate for Sarah and William?
Yes of course there will be, but if you have an Ancestry sub you can view an image of the marriage register page in their Liverpool Church of England Marriages dataset. LAN-OPC has transcribed the detail faithfully.

How do I get access to the document?

Not Issac (that is an Ancestry mistranscription). It's
Isaac, and he was a block maker, not a fitter.
There is no more detail to be found on a marriage certificate for Sarah and William than has been transcribed by LAN-OPC but if you want to see the image of the register page, and you don't have an Ancestry sub, then you may be able to access Ancestry at your local library.
As to Isaac's antecedents, that is going to be tricky. There were several men with that name in Liverpool at that time. If you can tie down a burial record, that may give you his age which will narrow the field of possibilities.

I see that you have gone back and completely changed your question in a post that I had replied to, which is going to confuse anyone else reading this thread. It's certainly confusing me.

In the Bishops Transcripts for the parish of Liverpool (presumably St Peter's), there's a marriage for Samuel Burgess, a plasterer, and Jane Watkinson (spinster) on 8 June 1812. There is also a burial for a Samuel Burgess, a plasterer aged 22, on 2 August 1813. Abode Smithfield.
Given the address, this Jane seems likely to be your Jane Burgess.

One of the Isaac Dickensons in the Liverpool area was buried at St James Cemetery Liverpool on 24 October 1830, address Dixon Street Toxteth Park, aged 43 years (bc1787)

Jane and Phebe possibly in Cotter Street Toxteth in 1841:-

Check this out. Considering that the address on the St James Cemetery burial appears to say Dixon Street Toxteth Park, there was at that time a Dickston Street off Smithfield Street that was later renamed Tomlin Street! Perhaps it has been assumed from the similar sounding name that the address was Dixon Street Toxteth Park and it should really be Dickston Street off Smithfield Street? If that was the case then this 1830 burial at St James Cemetery is the right Isaac.

Baptised: 25 Feb 1784
Church: All Saints Church, Frickley, Clayton With Frickley, Yorkshire
Birth Date: 10 May 1783
Father's Name: James Dickinson
Mother's Name: Mary
