Hi I'm hoping someone can help me...
I'm looking for William James Dawson born 13th Aug 1895 11 westcott road although have seen his DOB as 1896 as well.
He was my granny's older brother and i understand he was very dear to her, the family story is that he was gassed in WW1
I can't find any military records nor a marriage or death
Equally confusing is that my dad couldn't remember him and thought he died due to his injuries, but another family member thought that he was alive in the 1930s possibly later....
could any one help please?
thank you

Mother's maiden name Every?
His birth was registered in the September quarter of 1895 as William Dawson.
He's in the 1939 Register with his widowed mother Ellen in Stonehill Street. He was a general labourer and an ARP warden.
