DAVID SCOTT. Born 1806 Amandale, Scotland

Post by BJD »

Hi, I have been away from my family history for too long and now I can't remember all of the information I had so I am going to start of with this and see where things join up. Right, I have DAVID SCOTT. Born 1806 Amandale, Scotland.
I have him on 1841 census plus,1851,1861.the address is different on each one. The children are all the same on each h one but for a couple not on some.
On 1841 I have him at Rendham St. Liverpool, small warehouse dealer age 35. Two children Catherine,12 yes, and Alfred 2 years. This is the only mention of Catherine. I am wondering ìf David was a widower as no wife mentioned. When looking at later years he has a wife and 5 children., one of which was born at sea
.has anyone got any ideas on where I can look for a firs marriage.
When I put in Amandale Google changes it to Amandale. I don't know where in Scotland Amandale can be.
I hope that I will be able to get stuck in once again
Regards to all
Barbara

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It might make things clearer for anybody trying to help if you gave details of the later censuses, including references.

How can I find details out about the child or not at sea.?
I have quite a bit of info6 to get through this weekend.

Perhaps the child was registered when they arrived back home. Check the GRO indexes using the mother's maiden name to see if you have the details of all of them.

Thank you for the replies. I just need to get all information sorted in my head at the moment it is all clogged up because of medication. I thought Catherine was a daughter but turns out she was a first wife. just goes to show things aren't always what they seem so study and prove it. Now Catherine is sorted things will fall into place. Once again thank you for helping me and taking the time to reply to me
