Broughtons - Samuel

Can anyone help with details of Samuel Broughton my GGRandfather.
He was imprisoned in Walton Gaol for Grand Larceny and Theft in 1891 having been found guilty in May 1890.
He as discharged from the Kings Own Liverpool Company early in 1890 (Private 4641 A Company).
There are supposed reports of the details in the Liverpool mercury for June 2 and 11 1890 and also 21 August 1890 pge 8 and also for 29 October 1890. I have not been able to find these.
He would have been in the prison at the same time as the author Robert Noonan (Tressell) who was also in for Grand Larceny and Theft. I doubt they knew each other but Tressel lived in Queens Road while my GGRandfather lived in Amos Street (and others in Everton) which are quite near each other.
He is listed as a railway Shunter by profession.
Any help would be gratefully received.
With thanks.
