Hi All. This person was born in October 1810 in Liverpool. Father Samuel Varley Mother Margaret Varley Nee Atkinson. They had recently mov09.ed from Kendal to Liverpool with their other son Samuel b 1809.
Sadly the father Joseph died just after his son Joseph was born in Nov 1810 and was buried on 6 Nov at St John's. Young Joseph was baptised 10 Feb 1811 and the surname is mis -recorded as Varlow, but as father Joseph is deceased I am sure it is the correct family. Mother Margaret remarried 10 Feb 1812 at St Peter's to Henry Weigh.
Please can you help me find out what happened to Joseph junior after his baptism. Thanks Lynne

Sorry Lynne, no luck.

With his mother remarrying when he was just over 12 months old, my thoughts are he would have been raised with the name Weigh rather than Varley, dead end on both :(

Thanks for trying. I thought he might have died, but I can't find that either.

This rings a bell have we searched for this before? Sometimes people just disappear off the radar if they went to sea or emigrated that could explain why they disappear from the records.

Could be worth looking in the census for a J Varley who pops up in the Manchester Rate books for Liverpool Road, Manchester in 1851.

Thanks Blue and Mary, I have mentioned the family before, don't know about Joseph in particular. Thanks again.

There is only one Joseph Varley born c 1810 in Lancashire in 1851 census and he was born Ashton under lyne. Not him I think. There was 1 other baptised about the same time in Lancashire near Preston. So I think that must be him.
