Request for look-up in Street Directories

Happy New Year everyone!

I've made a New Year's Resolution to try and tie up some of my many family history loose ends in 2017 - all those sentences I have put a question mark by!
So here is what is probably the first of many.
Just wondering if there is anyone out there with access to Street Directories who could check when Sarah Ellen Levans moved form 70 Cottenham Street to 67 Bourne Street. I think it would be some time between 1925 and 1931, judging from death certificates for members of the family.
I would also be interested to know who lived at 67 Bourne Street before Sarah Ellen - was it a William Kelly or a Jane Sampson?
Hope someone can help as it will be sometime before I can get over to Liverpool Reference Library.

I have nothing between 1911 and 1938 and there is no mention in the 1938. Was she a single lady? as most entries are for the man rather than the lady of the household.

I will put it on my list for the RO for next week but no promises as I have quite a number of look ups to do!

Thanks for your quick reponse, Mary.

Sarah Ellen was the sister of my grandfather. She was widowed in 1925 when her husband, Robert Levans, died. Grave details show they were living at 70 Cottenham Street. I have been led to believe that they had lived there for several years.

Jane Sampson was Sarah Ellen's mother. At some point, she went to live with her daughter after she had been widowed for a 2nd time and her death certificate for 1925 suggests she had been living at this address prior to going into hospital.
However, prior to this, she had lived at 67 Bourne Street and this was where she was married from in 1912 and is the address on her husband's death certificate in 1917. As I understood it, her son-in-law - William Kelly - took over the tenancy at some point and then Sarah Ellen settled his debts and persuaded the owner to give her the tenancy. My grandfather died there in 1931 (hence the 1925-31 window) and she died there in 1942. I understand the owner/landlord was a Mr Hughes - not sure if that helps any.

If you can find out anything that would be great but please do not go to any trouble as I appreciate how busy you always are.

As I guessed there was no name mention of Sarah Ellen Levans, there is often only male entries.

In 1925 - 70 Cottenham Street was occupied by William Fenton, Labourer and at 67 Bourne Street was William Kelly, painter.

Many thanks, Mary.

The William Kelly entry fits in with what I had been told but the William Fenton one introduces a new name into the mix - I have 2 death entries citing 70 Cottenham Street in 1925; one for Jane Morris and one for Richard Levans.

looks like another one for the family sleuth relatives to take a look at!

I didn't have a lot of time, if I'd had more I should really have checked the following year as the directories are prepared during the previous year.

No worries - what you found out has helped.

I'm enjoying taking advantage of the freebie on Findmypast at the moment - thanks for posting the tip!

My 1914 Directory lists John Tampson, cooper at 67 Bourne Street in the street list - but the alpha list has it as John Sampson, cooper.

Thanks for this last post - the name should have read 'Sampson'. Particularly interesting that he is described as a 'cooper' as he was a fruit carter in 1912 when he married my great grandmother!
